Dr Amanda Stevens - Chiropractor for Kids & Moms
Dr Amanda Stevens is a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) whose practice focuses entirely on paediatric and perinatal care. She has dedicated countless hours toward education centred around infant and child health, which has been her professional passion for over a decade. Although she is honoured to put her head, heart, and hands to work for children of all ages, a large portion of her current clientele is typically under the age of one. She is obsessed with gross motor development and infant feeding success. It is a very special skillset honed intentionally over time and we are thrilled to have her under our roof.
Infant/Children & Pregnancy/Postpartum
Dr Amanda works with children from birth onward, but her interest in infant care starts even before babies are born. Having worked with hundreds of pregnancies, including twins and complex cases, she is very experienced in neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) care during pregnancy. She is Webster Certified. She is keen to keep people healthy, happy, and active during all stages of pregnancy. She is also well equipped to support postpartum recovery, helping you rebuild your core and posture after having baby and caring for whatever body discomfort may arise during that time.
Clinical Nutrition & Dedication to Education
Because she is truly invested in whole-person holistic care (and is a glutton for learning), on top of her Doctorate in Chiropractic and Bachelors in Kinesiology, Dr Amanda has earned a Masters of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition with a special interest in pediatric health and the gut-brain axis (lots of chemistry!). Don’t think her dorky streak stops there! She is continuously involved with research projects furthering the standard of care for pediatric patients. Dr Amanda also teaches other professionals in the realm of pediatric health in both private and academic (university) settings.
Integrated Therapeutic Approach
With a wide variety of skills and training, her therapeutic approach is catered specifically to each patient’s presenting problem, goals, needs, and developmental stage. This may include a blend of manual therapy (chiropractic adjustments and soft tissue treatments), craniosacral therapy (CST), clinical nutrition, exercise rehab (often DNS-based), home care management strategies, and kinesiology taping. She works diligently along the full continuum of the pediatric journey, from pregnancy care and postnatal recovery to developmental wellness and problem-solving neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) care for infants and children.

On the personal side
Originally from New Brunswick, Dr Amanda and her adventure-prone husband (Dr Benjamin Stevens) have traveled extensively and spent time living in England, California, Calgary, and the lower mainland before settling in to Kelowna in 2012. They have one incredible child named Sequoia.
When not dedicating her time to elevating patient care and learning, she can be found with exploring with her family. As an avid snowboarder and trail runner, she spends most of her “down” time out of doors. She also enjoys surfing, SUPing, backcountry touring, hiking, yoga, camping, traveling, reading (for fun), and all things mountains, trees, and elephants.
